Meeting Room Rentals for Birthday Parties and Special Events

  • The Swim Center’s large, bright Community Meeting Room and Upper Sun Deck provide a stunning view of both the Fitness and Splash Pools.

  • Party and special event rentals are permitted only during operational hours. Please click here for hours of operations.

  • The Meeting Room can comfortably fit 60 guests with a kitchenette that offers a refrigerator and sink.

  • Complete applications for rental of the Community Meeting Room can be submitted up to ten (10) days prior to request date. Completed applications will be processed on a first come-first served basis.

  • Applications may be dropped off at the Santa Monica Swim Center or emailed to aquatics.mailbox@santamonica.gov.

  • Rental Fees (room must be rented a minimum of two (2) hours):

    • Santa Monica Non-Profit Groups $90.00 per hour (April-October) $50.00 per hour (November-March)

    • Non-Santa Monica Groups $114.00 per hour (April-October), $75 per hour (November-March)

    • Birthday Party Santa Monica Residents $165 (2 hours). Additional time may be requested at $90.00 per hour.

    • Birthday Party Non-Santa Monica Residents $210.00 (2 hours). Additional time may be requested at $114.00 per hour.

Payments

  • Payments for permit can be made by cash, check, or credit card.

  • Deposit of $100.00 required to secure the date of rental.

  • Adult supervision ratios of 1:10. Children 8 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times during pool use times.

  • An adult must accompany children under 8 years of age in the water.

  • The City does not provide catering, decorations or direct staff involvement in leading activities.

Pool Permits

The permitting process for Santa Monica Community Aquatics facilities follows a seasonal cycle. Below is a general overview of the timeline for each season.

Winter/Spring (JAN-JUNE) Permitting Timeline

  • Applications Available: Early November

  • Permits Issued: Early/Mid-December

Summer (JUNE-AUG) Permitting Timeline

  • Applications Available: Early April

  • Permits Issued: Mid-May

Fall/Winter (AUG-DEC) Permitting Timeline

  • Applications Available: Mid-June

  • Permits Issued: Mid/Late July

Santa Monica High School Pool (SaMoHi) - 601 Olympic Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401

SaMoHi Permits will include a District lifeguard fee of $42/hour. Additional staffing fees apply, based on percentage of usage.

Required Documents

Submit the following documents to aquatics.staff@santamonica.gov

  1. Completed Community Aquatics Permit Application: Submit separate requests for mornings, afternoons, or evening times if necessary.

  2. Signed Pool Allocation Guidelines

  3. Roster of Participants and Coaches: Coaches must have valid CPR & First Aid certifications.

  4. Current Business License

  5. Insurance Certificates: Updated certificate of insurance with endorsements for the Santa Monica Community Aquatics

Pool Use Fees

  • Lane Rental Fees:

    • Non-profit Youth (Santa Monica-based): $6/lane per hour

    • Non-profit Adult (Santa Monica-based): $11/lane per hour

    • Private & Commercial: Varies by pool and organization type.
